Tourist in Zürich
I’ve spent the last few days visiting the city. Getting to know each neighborhood, to decide where I want to live. Knowing where the important shops are. The nice areas to have a walk.
I’ve discovered a couple of funny things of this city. First, there are sheep in it. No, not people, real sheep! Look at the picture. This was not in the countryside near Zürich. It was in a park inside the city, near Irchel. I promise!
Second, in the banking district there is a branch of UBS bank with hundreds of screens in the windows, displaying share prices and stockmarket graphs, and passers-by, going back home from work in the evening, check them. Is that just a publicity stunt by UBS, or are people really checking their finances? I’ll have to ask.
Some more tourist pictures. First, a view of Zürich’s “port” and lake, with high snow-capped mountains in the background –and that’s at the end of May–, and one of an appetizing lawn in Zürichhorn, with people enjoying the good weather. If I’m lucky, I’ll get a flat real close to this

And, to end, some pictures taken from Uetliberg. That’s a small mountain next to the city. I tried to climb it last weekend, but it started to rain and I decided to go back before I had reached the top. But with better weather, I’ll try again.
