Barcelona

I was born in Barcelona, and I have spent most of my childhood and youth there. Barcelona is a medium-sized city, about 1.6 million inhabitants (3 million for the Barcelona metropolitan area). It is the capital of Catalonia.
Being a seaside city, it has a mild climate. People take life the easy way, and in general work to live rather than the live to work. There are many cultural attractions and exhibits, and an active night life. There is a general impression of coolness in its inhabitants, probably thanks, at least in part, to the fact that it is usually sunny in Barcelona.
I selected three topics that you may be interested in: "Modernisme" (Gaudí...), new spaces, and daily life. A separate section shows some picture I took in December 2005, not just of Barcelona but also of the nearby city Terrassa, and of the Cerdanya region in the Pyrenees, and in July 2007 of Barcelona and the small town of Llançà.
